Imani Community Foundation

About Us

 

The Imani Foundation founded and incorporated in the State of Texas October 1996 by Dr. Jacquelyn Donald-Mims with the community and people-building in mind. "The Foundation" is federally approved as nonprofit public organization under IRS 501(c)(3) tax provision.

 

Purpose:

The Imani Foundation partners with the community people-building and building economic opportunities. "The Foundation" encourages excellence in families, youth, women, men, education and economic opportunity.  It seeks to relieve crisis for the proportion of moderate and low-income families in need of support and those confronting barriers to success.

 

We will assist and create

  • Housing that meet quality standards
  • Quality student academic performance
  • Encourage financial and credit responsibility and restoration
  • Help create purchasing power of the families through
  • Increased possible first-time homeowners
  • Job search, interview skills, job etiquette,
  • Referrals for GED
  • Nurtures individuals back into the workforce
  • Components include
  • youth preparation for college
  • Women’s Empowerment Conference effort
  • youth conference
  • Men's conference - featuring building of the "talented tenth" including reducing the propensity to incarceration
  • Access to Recovery” building pre-adjudication substance offenders for restoration.
